Peter Jones is an artist based in Portobello, Edinburgh’s seaside. His work focuses primarily on buildings and place and has been published in a series of small books celebrating the buildings of Kirkcudbright, Portobello, Falkland in Fife, and Craigmillar & Niddrie. His paintings are characterised by quirky lines and fresh, bright watercolour washes, spontaneously drawn and mainly produced in situ, with the subject in front of him. This passion for working outdoors, where the buildings’ colours, character and details can be seen most clearly, takes him into the landscape.
